Launch
Launched by the Vaad Hakohol of Crown Heights together with local shul representatives, C.H.O.S.E.N. began with a Zoom bringing together local volunteers and CSS (Community Security Service) to map out what protection inside the shul should look like and who would stand up for it.
On the block
Security booths were stood up in front of 770 and kept a strong, reassuring presence throughout Tishrei. Bochur patrols began, and volunteers completed CSS training, turning a plan into a visible presence on the block.
Community
On March 24, 2026, ahead of Pesach, the Vaad Hakohol and CSS brought qualified security professionals to Crown Heights to teach practical safety measures, and volunteers, shul leadership, and partners came together to grow the network.
